Positive Digital Footprint (Summer Learning Journey)

Image result for footprint

Creating a positive digital footprint has to have three main and basic rules that start with the letter R, responsible, respectful and repository. What you shouldn't share online is your bank account, full  name, mobile phone and where you live.

Talofa Lava Sione,
Great advice given about being cybersmart! It is important that us kiwis do not fall into other peoples traps! Being a responsible person does take part in your actions I believe! If you could add your own piece of advise about leaving a positive digital footstep, what would it be?? I'd love to hear more from you Sione!

Talofa lava Sione,

My name is Rachel and I am working with the Summer Learning Journey programme this year. It is fabulous to see that you have joined the journey this summer and posted so many activities on your blog already! I can see that my SLJ teammate, Lee, has posted some comments on your blog. He will be back at the beginning of January to continue posting comments. (He is just on holiday over Christmas and New Years).

While Lee is gone I have the opportunity to read student's work and post comments and I'm having a great time! I am learning so much. I must admit that I am new to the cybersmart curriculum as I didn't have computers in my classroom when I was growing up. Instead, we used paper and pens.

I can see that there is a lot to learn about being a smart digital citizen these days and I appreciate it that you have shared some important info with us in your blog. It sounds like we are to be respectful and responsbile online. Those are both really crucial features of being cybersmart, aren't they? I can also see in your post that there is a third rule called 'repository.' I have not heard of this rule before. Can you please explain to us what that means? What is a repository? I would love to know more!

I hope that you're able to hop back online soon to tell us more about this rule.

Thanks, Sione!

Talk to you soon,
Rachel :)
